Your dog may have a skin infection, consult a vet.
It could very well be the food you feed your dog. Some dogs react to non premium foods with a horrible smell.Try a premium food like Innova or Canidae. They both offer quality ingredients, with no corn, soy,or other useless ingredients.
take it to the vet.it could have gotten in to something right after the bath or it could just have something wrong with the skin.and old dogs don't smell bad we have one it only gets a bath once a year and she smells fine.and my grand ma and grandpa's dog stinks also
This problem could be from a skin infection. Dogs can get yeast and/or bacterial skin infections. Your vet needs to see your dog to determine what is going on. S/he can then prescribe an appropriate medication to treat the condition. Sometimes, dogs will need an antibiotic such as cephalexin to treat bacteria (the most common bacterial culprit is staph) or another medication or special medicated shampoo to treat yeast or fungal infections. And, a dog could have both at the same time.

Bottom line: see your vet and get to the root of the problem rather than just trying to cover it up.
if the dog is old then ur just gunna have to put up with it, thats the only thing with dogs, they stink when there old.
Change your dog's diet to an all natural one. Find a natural pet food store in your area and ask the consultant for recommendations. Or go online and research ';natural pet foods';. Learn the difference between commercial pet food and natural healthy pet food. What junk goes in must come out...
is your dogs skin dry or oily? If it is dry you can mix egg yolks together and use them as shampoo on the little guy, then use real good dog shampoo for sensitive skin and wash it again. This helps to moisturize the skin. If it is a dry skin related problem that causes smells to be held in the glands and in the skin, then this should significantly help.
This sounds a little odd - but it could be his/her a n a l glands. Some dogs are known to have secretion from this area. Get with your vet, if so, they can 'milk' his/her glands to help with the smell. Good luck!
