Are professional shampoos and conditioners really better than those from drugstores?

I have dry, long hair. I would like to buy some professional hair care products (Loreal absolute repair shampoo or intense repair shampoo, i haven't decided yet), but before i will do that, i would like to know, if this professional products are really better than for example Pantene? In WHAT exactly??? Cause everyone says that they are simply better, but in what ways? They moisturize better, they last longer or ??? Thanks for your answers :)Are professional shampoos and conditioners really better than those from drugstores?
pantene has lots of waxes in it which in the long run really isn't very good for your hair and makes it less shiny..

professional shampoos and conditioners just seem to work better than the rest of the drug store brands... for your long dry hair i'd probably recommend K-Pak from Joico. You can find it at ULTA or i'm sure online somewhere. Its protein based shampoos and conditioners so it helps to rebuid your hair. I'd recommend you using the regular shampoo (not chelating) and the deep-penetraiting reconstructor followed by the intense hydrator. If you do have an ULTA by you i'd recommend going there because its Buy 2 Get 1 free and unfortunately they do not sell it on the website..

good luck, hope i helped!!Are professional shampoos and conditioners really better than those from drugstores?
The main difference is that professional hair care products boast exotic ingredients that most people don't even recognise. They see it, think that it MUST be great because the shampoo is $20 a bottle, and buy into it. All you're paying for is the ability to say ';Oh, yeah, I use expensive shampoo because I'm awesome like that.';

In all actuality, the more higher-end brands of retail shampoo (Herbal Essences, etc. rather than Suave or VO5) are just as good as Redken or Biolage.
The professional shampoos and conditioners are better, but not all. The stuff from drugstores could be knockoffs. Meaning it could be a fraud. I recommend Paul Mitchell. It works well.
i think they are better in some ways but they're is no huge difference

they just smell really good

and make your hair look really shiny but thats about it.
